About Us

U3A in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales

U3A Southern Highlands acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which our members  meet and pays respect to their Elders, past and present. We would also like to acknowledge our young leaders who are the Elders of tomorrow and our future.

U3A Southern Highlands is one of many U3A groups throughout Australia and the world. The University of the Third Age concept began in France in 1972 and has since spread around the globe.

U3A is a not-for-profit volunteer organisation providing learning experiences for retired and semi-retired people throughout the four terms of the year.

U3A is a cooperative organisation that requires member participation. Some members volunteer to lead courses in a diverse range of subjects and activities reflecting their interests and hobbies enriching the third stage of our lives without the formalities of examinations. Other members volunteer to contribute by assisting on courses, joining the Management Committee and helping at social events.

If you would like to join us, we are sure you will find something of interest from our extensive course list to stimulate your retirement lifestyle. Click on Courses  for further information.
